The 21st SPE Reservoir Simulation
Symposium (RSS) will be held 21-23 February 2011 in The
Woodlands, Texas, USA. This Symposium is held
once every two years. RSS is SPE's premier meeting on
Modeling Flow and Transport Processes in Porous Media.
The symposium brings together leading experts from Industry
and Academia. RSS has a strong track record of great contributions
to the Reservoir Simulation and the wider Numerical Modeling
communities. Please consider participating in RSS 2011.
Please submit your Abstract online at

Engineer Reduces Big Problems
to Manageable Numbers Mary Wheeler solves the
unsolvable by modelling the invisible, and in the process,
provides solid answers for those seeking to improve groundwater
quality or find oil and gas. Her research requires the

We are pleased to announce that Professor
Mary Wheeler has been elected member
of the
American
Academy of Arts and Sciences for her outstanding contributions
to her profession, the nation, and the world. “The men
and women we elect today are true pathbreakers who have
made unique contributions to their fields, and to the
world”, said Academy Chair
Louis W. Cabot.
“The Academy honors them and their work, and they, in
turn, honor us”. Professor Wheeler will be inducted at
a ceremony on October 9, at the Academy’s headquarters
in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
